It was great to meet so many wonderful Tompkins HS students and parents last night at the Meet the Teachers Night! Everyone was so excited to see pictures of the library and hear about all the different activities we will be doing throughout the year. The most exciting moments were probably the smiles on the students faces when they heard the library would have charging stations for their devices…PRICELESS! Oh, and did I mention that we already have FIVE parent volunteers signed up to help in the library next year…and it’s only MARCH! Wow! The Tompkins HS library is going to be aMaZiNg!

Have you ever wanted to decide what books should belong in your school library? Well, now is your chance to let the me know exactly what books (or types of books) you would like to see in the Tompkins HS library. I cannot guarantee all the titles will find a home in the library, but I can guarantee that I will look at each and every suggestion and determine whether or not it is appropriate for our school.
Today I got to sport a hard hat (that didn’t fit!) and take a tour of Tompkins HS. All I can say is…INCREDIBLE! I can’t wait for our students to walk the halls of this gorgeous building! I can hear the oohs and ahhs right now!
As I knew would be the case, the library is the bomb! Here are some pictures from my visit today:
Doors from the main hallway that lead into the library.
Looking towards the door to the main hallway of the school.
View from behind the circulation desk.
Need to charge your device? No problem!
Entrance to the library from the main entry way into the school.
View of the library from the 2nd floor hallway windows.

Although these stairs are not in the library, I had to walk up them to get to the 2nd floor windows to take the picture above. Needless to say, I walked very carefully. 🙂
Welcome to the Tompkins High School Library Blog! This is where you will find news on all the latest and greatest information happening in the library.
Although the library is under construction and doesn’t officially open until August 2013, don’t let that stop you from bookmarking this blog NOW! I will be sharing the progress of the construction of our Tompkins Library throughout the next 6 months. Stay tuned…
