April is School Library Month!

School Library Month (SLM) is the American Association of School Librarians’ (AASL) celebration of school librarians and their programs. Every April school librarians are encouraged to create activities to help their school and local community celebrate the essential role that strong school library programs play in a student’s educational career.

4/12 – National D.E.A.R Day – National Drop Everything and Read Day
4/13 – 4/19 – National Library Week -The 2014 theme is Lives change @ your library.
4/17 – Celebrate Teen Literature Day – Stay tuned for more info!
4/23 – World Book Night – The OTHS library will be giving away FREE books during the school day!
4/26 – OTHS Field Trip – Teen Book Con
4/30 – OTHS presents the Poetry Café

 

Students are encouraged to submit videos showcasing how their school library connects to this year’s School Library Month theme, “Lives Change @ your library.” Videos are due April 15, 2014. Enter today!
